Here, at Home Loving, we like to stay connected to our community. We believe that staying close to the people and community we serve and love is important. This past we celebrated some of our communities that assist seniors with an Ice Cream Social. We started out at the Kernersville Senior Enrichment Center which provides Crafts, Education and Social Interaction of Active Aging Adults. Then we headed over to Piney Grove Rehabilitation Center where the more frail older adults in our community are supported by Nursing Care or are Rehabilitating from an acute issue. We treated workers, aging adults and their families with an assortment of ice cream flavors and yummy toppings. What better way to get to know the people we serve and work with than sharing the common bond of fellowship and ice cream?
In addition to the Ice Cream Social we actively participate in many different events throughout the year in the Kernersville community. A couple of months ago we participated with the Area Agency on Aging in the annual Elder Abuse Walk at Triad Park to spread awareness about the reality of fraud and abuse with the elderly population. This spring we participated in the Kernersville YMCA Healthy Active Adults Day, so aging adults in our community know what resources are out there to keep them healthy. By the way, did you see Maxine make an appearance at the event?! Also, the Director of Nursing also helped with Project Smile Dental Clinic this past June. We look forward to continuing our support of the Kernersville Community and the aging adults to whom we provide home care.
